• The Software Update Service can be ordered just like a product. The corresponding Article No. is specified in the ordering data of the respective software product

• It is automatically extended by another year unless canceled three months prior to expiration

• An annual flat rate is billed per license

The SINAMICS software is constantly being further developed and improved. The Software Update Service (previously: Software Maintenance Service) is the most convenient option for consistently making use of these improvements. It ensures that all new software versions released after the Software Update Service has been ordered will be automatically sent. This ensures that the software is always up-to-date.

The Software Update Service

• Saves logistics effort:
  After the first order, the Software Update Service is automatically extended by another year

• Reduces costs:
  Even one delivery is already more cost-effective than ordering a single update

• Permits a clear overview of the costs:
  Software investments can be taken into consideration early on during budget planning and can be written off more easily

Design

All of the software versions that are released after ordering the Software Update Service (usually several deliveries per year).

The SINAMICS drive system can be expanded with the web server to provide an efficient diagnostics and maintenance option. The Web server provides access to multi-faceted new options for drive diagnostics and remote maintenance for every network-compatible PC with a Web browser. For example:

• Downloading a configuration

• Updating firmware

• Providing a status overview of the drive

• Evaluating warnings and fault messages

• Monitoring and adapting parameter settings

• Setting up of a user administration to provide access protection

The web server is ideal for applications not requiring any special software (STARTER) or version dependencies. Easy diagnostics and maintenance are possible both locally and remotely, provided appropriate security measures are applied.
