The IP address is assigned by means of the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). If there is no corresponding server in the network, the IP address can be assigned using the supplied software tool PST (Primary Setup Tool) or STEP 7/TIA Portal. The SCALANCE XF-200 switches are configured with STEP 7/TIA Portal.
Commissioning and diagnostics PROFINET diagnostic interrupts from SCALANCE XF-200 switches can be displayed with the appropriate SIMATIC engineering tools and processed in the PLC with an expanded diagnostics function.
