The switches of the SCALANCE XC-100 product line support the inexpensive construction of Industrial Ethernet line or star topologies with switching functions for machine level applications. They are designed for installation in the control cabinet. The devices are approved for ATEX Zone 2 and IECEx, which allow them to be used in hazardous areas. The SCALANCE XC108 also has E1 approval, making the products especially suitable for use in public transportation vehicles. Furthermore, the SCALANCE XC-100 product line features various approvals for shipbuilding applications.
The SCALANCE Industrial Ethernet switches with enclosure rear sections of metal are optimized for mounting on a standard DIN rail and an S7-1500 DIN rail. Direct wall mounting in various positions is also possible. Thanks to the enclosure dimensions that correspond to those of the SIMATIC S7-1500, the devices are ideally suited for integration into automation solutions and mounting on the SIMATIC S7-1500 DIN rail.
