The register control is made available based on the SIMOTION Print Standard Add On TRC1000 application. Workshops are available for experienced SIMOTION users.
The modular SIMOTION TRC1000 wedge mark sensor comprises the IDS-PN evaluation unit with intelligent measured value processing (1-channel as gray value) and specific accessories. It is directly connected to PROFINET IO with IRT via an integrated 2-port switch whereby it is integrated in the line topology of the real-time PROFINET network of the machine. The DS sensor module, for example, expands the basic device to include a second fiber-optic cable connection for measuring on the reverse side, or measuring marks that are located transversely. Both modules are connected to 24 V DC using a prefabricated cable (available in two lengths), and a connecting cable (open at one end). The fiber-optic cable is equipped with an optical system and can be plugged into the IDS-PN or the DS. The cable is available in two lengths. The optical system is attached to the machine and can be adjusted using the three-section fiber-optic mounting set and standard ITEM profile elements. Integrated 2-port switch to configure a PROFINET line-type topology, e.g. with additional sensors and the SIMOTION control. Matching M12 PROFINET prefabricated cables are available, or users can assemble them themselves (see PROFINET).

User-friendly visualization at a control station is a decisive feature for a powerful and precise register control system that is easy to set up. This is the interface between the operation of the machine and technology integrated in the drive system. Print tasks can be transferred to the control system using a powerful Panel PC in conjunction with a simple-to-operate visualization application. Using convenient touch panels, when setting up, print marks can be effectively measured and printing cylinder positions adapted. Register errors are continually monitored during a print run and deviations displayed. An application based on WinCC TIA is available for SIMATIC IPC Panel PCs. This application provides the basic and essential functions for state-of-the-art register control. As a result of the open program code, existing functions can be adapted as required. It is also possible to implement additional system-specific functions. We recommend 15" inch as the minimum screen size for user-friendly operation at the main panel. Local panels that are only used to display oscilloscope data can be smaller.

When using the standard application, approximately 512 power tags are required to visualize the register control for a maximum of 8 print units. We recommend that the application is adapted to address the particular system scope.
For local panels where only local control locations are displayed, the application can be reduced so that 128 power tags are sufficient. SIMATIC IPC and WinCC TIA Runtime can be ordered as a bundle.
